Quickie mix
I just thought I'd put in something today, just so to say that this site is still alive.
I'm currently working on practicing and recording some cover songs. Hopefully I can get the gig that I wanted before the year ends. If that happens, it would be my 5th gig as a musician and my first as a singer/songwriter.
I'm trying my best to master some songs of James Morrison. His music is intense. You can feel the loneliness in his voice, and I wish I could convey that when I do cover them.
I'm also into Marie' Digby right now and Kate Perry. I admit, they are my guilty pleasure. I like Kate because she's eccentric. I like Marie' because she did it. Starting from the ground and still going up.
I'm liking the new sound of Lifehouse as well and looking forward to see Incubus again.
A couple of weeks ago I saw Chris Cornell and Linkin Park. It was amazing. Though my feet hurt, it was well worth it.
I'm also digging' Jon McLaughlin. Kind of the same genre as James Morrison, so it all up in there.
I finished 5 songs without lyrics within a span of two weeks. I half finished my new song which is tentatively called "Should I". I had my friend and drummer listen to a rough recording of it and he liked the riffs. He was troubled about the lyrics. Which is totally spot on. There were some weak parts and some, needs a bit more tweaking. It will be done, oh yeah, it will be done.
Just in case someone drops by here and wonder, hey I know that guy, but he's going with a different name. Actually its still my name, I just never used it. I was named Bryan Jason on my birth certificate, but when I was christened they add Eugene as my first name. Funny how my dad loves his name so much.
They thought it would be torture to a child if I had 3 names, so I just kept using Eugene Bryan. So there you go. FYI, I retired Eugene about 5 years ago to this date. Actually my former boss did. The reason was, I got so burnt up at that time so they thought calling me by my middle name would change my pace, and it worked.
Ok, this is long enough. Stick around, you might enjoy what I have to offer in the future.
